Pre-Flight Panic Attack

The nightmare began last Sunday when I thought I was ready for my trip, only to awaken 5 days pre-flight to find an expired passport in a pouch. I could have sworn I had another passport -- didn't I? One that wasn't expired???

Well, I was wrong. No valid passport. And a non-refundable trip to Tokyo which maybe wasted.

So after running around for a day getting pictures, signatures, agreements, and the like,　I finally hand-delivered my passport office Monday morning...and will pick it up today. What I learned: an extra $30 allows a rush order to 3 days. Whew!

When I'm on trips, I often share stories and observations with friends. Since I'm travelling this Friday to Japan, I thought, rather than use group e-mail, I'll try blogging and perhaps e-mail stories to a few people who don't check out blogs.
