Post Christmas Flatness

It's been a month since I've blogged. Sorry guys. For some reason, when I'm in Toronto, I'm in blogging daze. I do my thing, go to work, come home, eat, do stuff, watch TV, play games, maybe meet up with a friend or two, have my regular activities, don't really have any significant mental stimulation outside of routine, and so the mind cranks out the same stuff time and time again.

This changes when I go on vacation when I move into hyper-alert, always trying to understand, try new things, and just stay on top of living in a new place, that I often find myself in bizarre situations, learning new things, and experiencing a more varied existence which often makes for more interesting stuff.

So, as long as I'm not on vacation (and I don't expect to for a while), I'm going to try something new the next little bit. I'm going to focus on what I now consider the mundane and blow it up (i.e. zoom in on the details) so that it becomes the interesting, the bizarre, where patterns of learning emerge, and interesting insights rise. Stuff that I hope I will find interesting, otherwise, I will only make it boring for the rest of you guys.

Merry Christmas all!

Dinner Dance

Hey there -- it's almost Christmas time, and the yearly work 'dinner dance' has arrived. So am I going to this?

Yes -- am I looking forward to this? Maybe at one point. Now? Probably not, though I think I'll end up having a good time.

It'll be the last day to hang out with a work friend in the capacity of work friend. He'll be moving on. The end of an era for work buddies, for lunches, for walks to the subway after work. I'll see you around -- just not at work.

Take care, buddy.
